What is the Samsung Galaxy Ring?

The Galaxy ring is a new smart ring with android devices into it which works well with the galaxy smartphones. Samsung took a milestone step and launched the smart ring that has tech enthusiasts eager to learn. This release marked the first smart ring by a major smartphone manufacturer, as Apple and others have yet to produce a similar device. The ring has a lot of various health and sleep- tracking features, with more insights which can be added later. The ring is a water resistant fitness device that tracks sleep, oxygen, heart rate, and skin temperature to give insights into your wellness.

According to a patent filed by Samsung in February 2023, the Galaxy Ring is “intended to cover the categories of wearable smart devices like a smart ring for tracking, measuring, monitoring, and uploading health, fitness, and sleep-related information.”

Samsung Galaxy Ring Features

The weight of Samsung’s latest finger wearable is—just 2.3 to 3.0 grams—which makes it light enough for 24×7 health tracking and fitness needs. It boasts a 10 ATM water resistance rating and is made from Titanium Grade 5. Samsung claims that you can wear it for up to seven days on a single charge, which means less frequent charging than smartwatches. It comes with a charging case and is available in three colors.

Like Samsung’s recent Galaxy devices, the Galaxy Ring also gets Galaxy AI touch. With Galaxy AI features like Energy Score and Wellness Tips, the Galaxy Ring generates a detailed health report with different metrics and gives recommendations to wearers. It features a sleep AI algorithm to deliver data about sleep patterns and build better habits.

Along with Sleep Score and snoring analysis, the wearable provides sleep metrics such as movement during sleep, sleep latency, and heart and respiratory rate. With Cycle Tracking, the menstrual cycle can be tracked by skin temperature monitoring.

The wearable is resistant to water and sweat with an IP68 rating and is certified for 10 ATM water resistance. It has a titanium grade 5 build and offers Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity. The Galaxy Ring can be paired with a Samsung Galaxy smartphone with Android 11.0 or above and a minimum of 1.5GB memory. 

Galaxy Ring’s base variant in size 5 houses an 18mAh battery while the bigger 13 size has a 23.5mAh battery. The wearable is accompanied by a specially designed charging case with LED lighting to indicate charging status. The charging case packs a 361mAh battery and it is also claimed to deliver up to seven days of battery life on a single charge. Additionally, 30 minutes of charging time is claimed to fill the battery from zero to 40 percent.

What will Samsung Galaxy Ring do

The smart ring is an outstanding fitness tracker that will record the health data and translate it into digestible information through the Samsung health app.

The smart ring has three sensors: an accelerometer, a skin temperature sensor, also a photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor. The data captured by these sensors results in providing valid data about sleep quality, respiratory rate, blood oxygen levels, heart rate monitoring, and cycle tracking.

The new Samsung Health experience offers medication reminders, with helpful insights about interactions with foods or other medications that you take.

Samsung Galaxy Ring Color and Availability

The Samsung Galaxy Ring will be available for pre-order in select markets from July 10, with availability starting on July 24. It comes in three colours: Titanium Black, Titanium Silver, and Titanium Gold, and includes a sizing kit with nine options.
